Digital Fashion Collection
The digital collection "fetishAIse" represents three looks classified in the contemporary interpretation of horror, fetish and the Uncanny. The template for the digital designs is a description by ChatGPT, which generated the three names "The Red Room", "Bite Me Babydoll" and "Witching Hour", as well as a mood board generated by Stable Diffusion.
The fetish is understood here as a substitution object to which a certain emotional value is attached. The virtual designs are meant to play with the question of how artificial intelligence can serve as a projection surface of dreams, wishes, and "dark desires," but at the same time can evoke fears and horrors. It addresses the fetishization of AI technologies in contemporary discourse, which is metaphorically reflected in the use of revealing designs and classically fetishized materials such as latex. Embedded in the style of virtual environments and digital avatars, the three designs represent the possibilities of digital fashion as a means of disguising and transforming the wearer like a charcter in a game.
AI is ascribed the role of the "horror of the present", which brings with it seductive possibilities, but also uncontrollable, monstrous effects. Thus "fetishAIse" is an invitation into the realm of digital seduction, a fascination for the evil, the demonic and the fetish of our time: artificial intelligence.
